Monday, April 27, 2026, 6:00pm-7:30pm, Book Discussion: The Tell: A Memoir, by Amy Griffin.  Join us to discuss New York Times Best Seller, The Tell. An intimate, sharply observed story about learning to understand the quiet signals—both internal and external—that shape a life. Griffin reflects on family, identity, and the long work of reclaiming her own narrative, offering a memoir that is honest, layered, and deeply human. It is a compelling read for anyone drawn to personal stories about resilience, self‑discovery, and the power of finally telling the truth. This memoir invites readers to think about memory, resilience, and the courage it takes to speak truths that were once too heavy to hold.  Event location: The Story Cellar, 205 Callon Street, Wausau, WI 54401. Email Jessica@womenscommunity.org to register.

Wednesday, April 29, 2026, Denim Day & Dollars for Denim: A symbolic gesture–Denim Day is an international protest responding to the Italian Supreme Court’s overruling of a rape conviction in 1999. Although the assailant had been found guilty at trial, the Supreme Court argued that because jeans are difficult to remove, the assailant could not have done so without the victim’s help. Sounds outrageous, yet all over the world, women and men who are victims of sexual assault continue to be disbelieved and accused of causing the assault due to their behavior… or fashion sense. Everyone is invited to wear denim clothes and help raise funds and awareness as an individual or in their workplace. Donations in any amount can be made on our website. https://womenscommunity.org/event/denimday/ Post a photo of yourself or your workplace group to your social media page and tag us on Instagram or Facebook. Denim Day Displays made by local survivors will be held at UWSP at Wausau Campus and NTC Campus from 11:00am-1:00pm.
