Abuse isn't limited to the home. In fact, domestic and sexual violence affects the entire community. And it takes an entire community to make a difference. The Women’s Community works with law enforcement, judicial and legislative representatives, area schools and community groups like Everest Men Respect to raise awareness about abuse and assault and eradicate violence in our community. We encourage community members to get involved — join forces with us and area groups as we work to stop domestic abuse and sexual assault in our community.
There are 16,800 homicides and 2.2 million (medically treated) injuries due to intimate partner violence annually, which costs $37 billion.
