Domestic abuse and sexual assault
can be difficult to talk about but raising awareness is critical to changing
existent attitudes and preventing domestic violence and sexual assault.
The Women’s
Community Outreach and Education Program provides
- Presentations to schools, civic
groups, clubs, social service agencies, churches, businesses and
professional groups that help increase awareness and understanding of
domestic abuse and sexual assault.
- Prevention education to middle
and high school students that helps youth recognize abuse and develop
healthy relationships.
- Educational workshops that
cover topics such as workplace domestic violence, safety planning,
domestic violence assessment, gender and domestic violence, effects of
abuse on children.
